“Great stuff. I thought long and hard about choosing a gift to give my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary. My family tree was a bullseye, and I owe it to Mr. Mateusz.”
Regards and thanks. Marek from Tczew.
“I ordered a unique gift for any occasion some time ago from the Arthekagen studio. The final effect exceeded my wildest expectations. The map was made in the smallest details, precisely and legibly. Thank you very much.”
“Thank you very much for the beautiful Sas coat of arms that decorates my father’s living room. I sincerely recommend the works created in Mr. Mateusz’s studio”
“A fantastic gift for my older sister who loves maps. The map you made is brilliant. Looking at it brings back memories from my childhood.”
“Mateusz, I congratulate you on your craftsmanship, precision and beautiful passion for making coats of arms, maps and family trees. The coat of arms given to my grandparents moved them to tears.”
Thank you, Mariola from the city of Kraków.
“Very nice and objective cooperation at every stage of creating handicrafts. I certainly recommend works by Mr. Mateusz to anyone who would like to become the owner of such original crafts.”
Mateusz Konieczny – A geographer and historian by profession, a fan of heraldry, genealogy and
cartography, whose passion is painting coats of arms, family trees and maps. A self-taught artist, he
took an interest in the art of painting 12 years ago, quite unexpectedly, but as it turned out, it was a hit,
as his fascination combined with his patience give his handicrafts a certain uniqueness and
exceptionality. Using a step-by-step method, the artist realised his successive works and ideas, which
began to appeal to other people. This gave a signal and a reason for the creation of the website,
showing the author’s artistic workshop.
You, too, can become the owner of such a work of art, giving it to loved ones, friends, acquaintances
or simply keeping it for yourself.

Did you know that the oldest maps ever made are at least several thousand years old, if not over a dozen thousand years old. Here are some examples:
Probably the oldest preserved map was carved on a mammoth tusk, dated to 25 thousand BC, found in Pavlov in Moravia, Czech Republic.
Another example is a map discovered in 1993 in the Abauntz cave in northern Spain. It is 13,600 years old and consists of a sandstone slab measuring 17 x 12 x 2 cm, which shows the immediate surroundings of the cave. Researchers found on the map a marked location of the cave itself, a nearby river with two of its tributaries, river fords and animal silhouettes, which suggests that the map may have been used by hunters.
The oldest map drawn on papyrus is a geological map discovered in 1820 in Egypt. It shows the mountainous areas of the Eastern Desert of the pyramid country and shows sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks and gold-bearing areas of exploited mines marked in different colors. This map was drawn in the time of Ramesses IV (1151–1145 BC) and can be seen today in the Egyptian Museum in Turin, Italy.
